Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Government announced the list of winners of the "2024 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards." Among them, the project "Key Technologies and Equipment for High-Quality and High-Efficiency Laser Manufacturing of Large-Capacity Power Batteries," jointly completed by Hymson, Foshan University, Changchun University of Science and Technology, and South China Normal University, was awarded the second prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award for its outstanding technological innovation and industrial application achievements.

TThe Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award is a provincial-level scientific and technological award established by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. As one of the seven major categories of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards, it represents the highest honor in the field of science and technology in the province. This award is a high recognition by the Guangdong Provincial Government of Hymson's scientific research capabilities and industrial contributions, once again highlighting the company's leading position in the laser intelligent manufacturing sector.
The award-winning project focuses on improving the manufacturing quality and efficiency of large-capacity power batteries. Through in-depth industry-university-research collaboration, it has successfully achieved breakthroughs in three key technologies: high-efficiency processing of thick electrode microstructures, high-quality and high-speed flexible manufacturing of large-capacity electrodes, and high-quality battery welding. These advancements are of significant importance for promoting the high-quality development of China's new energy power battery industry.
Currently, the related technologies and equipment have been industrialized and applied in several leading domestic battery enterprises, further strengthening China's independent and controllable capabilities in the field of high-end new energy battery equipment.
